Job Summary The primary purpose of this role is to lead a team (or teams) of software engineers in the development, configuration, and modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions. The core expertise of this team will be application development in an agile framework. The Sr Manager Software Engineering - Application Development, is responsible for the holistic integrity and functionality of technical solutions and system products. This includes setting technology boundaries, policies, and engineering practices and standards for system evolution and integrity. To do this, the Application Development Sr. Manager is responsible for creating \'just-enough\' architecture, plus identifying standards and processes that directly relate to successfully implementing the product itself. Counterbalancing this, the Application Development Sr. Manager also makes sure that no architectural, process, and standards constraints are placed on implementation and maintenance beyond that needed to build the product correctly. This is a leader of people who clears obstacles for his/her team while empowering and enabling others to solve complex technical and business problems. To be successful, the individual in this role must bring a strong combination of business and technical acumen and be able to provide solutions that balance the unique needs of both the business and Technology. Qualifications . Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) . 8 years of IT experience leading and managing medium application development teams in an agile framework (Scrum, Kanban, Safe). . Managed medium to large scale application development projects in a complex environment for a minimum of 8 years . The ability to work under pressure within agreed timelines and to support multiple work streams in parallel . Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices . Experience with various project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile . Ability to manage a team of high performing developers that support a globally dispersed user base complex, diverse, and demanding client base . Experience with development tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visual Studio, Jenkins, Rundeck, SVN/Crucible/Jira, Git/Stash, etc . 5 years of experience in software engineering or related field . 5 years working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC) . 3 years working in an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework or similar (COBIT, DevOps) . 3 years of experience leading project or technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility this includes experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. . Master\'s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field . Experience managing operational and/or project financial budgets . Strong knowledge and experience in C#, ASP.NET Core, and .NET Framework. . IT consulting experience . Azure cloud experience: DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, Deploying apps to Azure App Service, ACR/ACS, AKS etc. . Experience in IT Management in the distribution or retail industry . Experience working with and managing 3rd party vendors and/or software solution providers . Experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership
