Job Description


  • Candidate will be working on projects across different Global Sites of SUN, in particular on all pre-project phases (master plans, programs, preliminary studies, conceptual / basic design) as a SME- HVAC. You will be part of SUN internal Global Project teams based in Mumbai and will be working in collaboration with engineers from different disciplines.
  • SME- HVAC is experienced in development of user needs, setting the strategy for HVAC in compliance with regulations in force, perform design calculations, write the specifications (definition of technical solutions, costing and planning).
The ideal candidate will have HVAC design and operations experience working on pharmaceutical & API facilities. You will be accountable for conceptual and basic engineering design for all major project in SUN and drive the department for standardization and consistent engineering approach in the network.General duties and responsibilitiesCandidate main responsibilities will be:Development of user needs, setting the strategy for HVAC in compliance with regulations in force, perform design calculations, write the specifications (definition of technical solutions, costing and planning)
  • Leading the entire HVAC Engineering activities to carry out HVAC design work to carry out HVAC design work as per the requirements of Project, based on standard company Design guidelines / other procedures. Timely completion of design and engineering deliverables and execution of systems.
  • Monitor that work and progress are in compliance with the project requirements and schedule
  • Overview of work progress
  • Should possess Expert knowledge on Area classification and man material flow concepts.
  • Ensure use of GMP,QMS,QBD and global mandatory standards and guidelines wherever possible
  • Should have in depth knowledge on latest ISPE Guidelines.
  • Should be well aware of regulatory requirements of USFDA, MHRA, and WHO etc.
  • Planning, risk and cost evaluation
  • Shall have in-depth knowledge of HVAC requirement for OSD, Sterile, Injectable, Liquid, API, Specialty products, etc.
Qualification/Skills
  • Minimum of 7.5-15 yrs. in project in the Pharmaceutical & API industry.
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Preferred additional qualification as - HVAC / Piping design.
  • Candidate should have exposure on working on international projects across the Globe; especially in Europe and US.
  • Candidate should have knowledge of following:
  • Carrying out detailed heat load calculations & Psychometric analysis
  • Candidates should be able to carry out pump head and static pressure calculations
  • Preparation of Airflow Diagram along with Automation/control philosophy
  • Should have knowledge of designing of ducting, piping and HVAC controls
  • Should be aware of HVAC equipment selection and URS or technical specification
  • Bill of Quantity preparation.
  • DQ, IQ, OQ Preparation, execution and Review
  • Should be well aware of current Pharma, ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO & Clean room guidelines
  • Should be capable of coordinating with other services and preparation of HVAC Tender
  • Understanding of Regulatory and Documentation compliance requirements (GMP and EHS)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GEP
  • Candidate shall rigorous, independent, and curious, with good communication skills and the ability to manage projects in an international context. You are able to demonstrate the ability of persuasion and listening.
  • You are flexible and ready to travel a lot if needed.
