ISS STOXX is seeking a Sr. Manager of Data Engineering in Mumbai to bring team and technical leadership to the development and deployment of our cutting-edge financial intelligence platform.

Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for growing and developing a team of Data Engineers in Mumbai, using your expertise to help your team interpret requirements into solutions, and ensuring the Data team delivers reliable, timely incremental value to the business.
You will be able to demonstrate comfort and success in a matrixed organisation where reporting lines do not dictate technical direction \xe2\x80\x93 in a culture where the global Data Engineering function collaborate to achieve shared success. You will collaborate with cross-functional peers and stakeholders to share best practice and knowledge and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Success in this role means you steer a team of capable and happy Data Engineers who are supported to work efficiently across our data estate using agreed technologies and processes, to implement our vision and contribute to our best practices and to seek personal growth. You will lead by example, including by contributing your engineering skill to interpret requirements and develop solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead development and operationalization of ISS STOXX\'s Data Engineering function in Mumbai.
• Recruit, retain and develop Data Engineers.
• Internalize the business value projects deliver and help your team deliver value every sprint.
• Help your team ensure our platform\'s scalability, reliability, and efficiency meet business and client needs.
• Make sure robust CI/CD and observability are integrated into your teams\xe2\x80\x99 deliverables.
• Identify and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance, pipeline performance and customer satisfaction.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in cloud data management and operation.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience, with at least 5 in engineering management, with focus on data engineering in the cloud
• Experience building, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams.
• Experience leading the development and deployment of large-scale, complex data pipelines.
• Experience of cloud development, its benefits, and challenges
• Experience of GCP, AWS or Azure products across database, serverless, containerization and API
• Pragmatic experience using agile to deliver incremental value.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Focus on simplicity, automation, and observability.
• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Expertise in Python

Desirable

• Strong knowledge of GCP products across database, serverless, containerization and API
• Domain knowledge of financial market data and financial index data models and feeds
• Expertise in DBT, SQL, Apigee, Airflow
