The Applied Research & Technology (ART) team, part of Collins Aerospace, works with teams around the globe, collaborating with them towards building prototypes, demonstrators, and new products, thereby enabling better innovation and business outcomes for Collins Aerospace.

The Emerging Technologies (ART ET) team, part of ART, pursues advanced, emerging, and disruptive technologies and methods relevant to multiple strategic business units (SBUs) with a focus on AI/ML, AR/VR, IoT, I4.0, Cloud and Advance Software Engineering methods.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has a solid background in developing and deploying AR/VR applications. The responsibilities will include sourcing customer requirements and refining them for the technology teams and participating in development and deployment of successful Proof of Concepts and Technology Demonstrators.

We are also looking for a candidate who is passionate and curious about cutting edge technology such as I4.0, AI/ML, Blockchain, Cloud etc., and has a strong will to redefine aerospace. The individual will need to be organized, be an active communicator and a good influencer in the dynamic and everchanging environment of the research and innovation.

Objectives of this Role:

• Support projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying tool stacks, development of prototypes and technology demonstrators.
• To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments
• Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
• Identify Technology and Industry disruptions on the horizon
• Ability to network and be an onsite representative for ART ET team

Qualifications:

• Required bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (Engineering/ Science) with a minimum experience of 6 years
• In-depth knowledge of XR platforms(Unity/Unreal), technologies, and design of XR applications

• Understanding real-world concepts and interactions into XR
• Experience of XR with hardware like HTC, Oculus, HoloLens, Android/iOS mobile
• Strong Object Oriented Programming and coding skills, especially in Python, C# and/or C++
• Knowledge of concepts such as 3D model, Animation, and Rendering, lighting, shaders, materials etc.
• Strong understanding of Multiplayer and Networking concepts , Memory Management, Graphics performance fundamentals.

Skills desired:

• Good skills in requirements writing & decomposition
• Good skills in prototyping AR/VR solutions for Industry 4.0 applications
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services(S3, API ,EC2) and full-stack development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong inter-personal skills
• Good attention to detail
