Responsibilities:
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all imported goods comply with relevant regulations, including customs laws, import/export restrictions, and documentation requirements.
• Documentation Management : Oversee the preparation and processing of import documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, certificates of origin, and other required paperwork.
• Customs Clearance : Coordinate with customs brokers and agents to ensure timely clearance of imported shipments through customs, resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
• Logistics Coordination : Collaborate with freight forwarders, carriers, and warehouse teams to arrange transportation, track shipments, and manage delivery schedules.
• Vendor Communication : Maintain effective communication with overseas suppliers and vendors to coordinate shipment schedules, resolve shipping-related issues, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Cost Management : Monitor import-related costs, including duties, taxes, freight charges, and customs brokerage fees, and identify opportunities for cost optimization or savings.
• Risk Management : Identify and mitigate potential risks related to importation, such as shipment delays, compliance violations, or supply chain disruptions.
• Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of import transactions, including shipment details, customs documentation, and compliance records, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Improvement : Stay abreast of changes in import regulations, trade agreements, and industry best practices, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Compliance and Regulatory Management:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant import laws, regulations, and trade agreements.
• Stay updated on changes in import/export laws and tariffs.
• Obtain and manage necessary licenses and permits for import activities.
• Documentation:
• Prepare and review all required import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
• Logistics and Transportation:
• Coordinate the transportation of goods from the port of entry to the final destination.
• Manage relationships with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
• Optimize shipping routes and transportation costs.
• Vendor Management:
• Communicate with overseas suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate shipment of goods.
• Negotiate shipping terms, freight rates, and other related agreements.
• Cost Control:
• Monitor and control import-related costs, including customs duties, taxes, and freight charges.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the import process.
• Communication and Coordination:
• Collaborate with internal departments, including procurement, finance, and sales, to ensure alignment of import activities with overall business objectives.
• Communicate effectively with external partners, such as customs officials, government agencies, and suppliers.
• Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and organized records of import transactions and documentation.
• Prepare reports on import activities, costs, and performance metrics.
• Continuous Improvement:

• Stay informed about industry best practices and technology advancements in import/export management.
• Knowledge about BL, Seaway BL, BL Telex, House BL, Master BL, Switch BL. ? Take freight, vessel, schedulers along with route & Transit time.
• Knowledge of Import, checking calculation of Import BOE
• Follow up with the vendor for execution of supply / dispatches of the goods. ? Follow up with logistics for movement of the goods
• Online checking of drawback status. ? Vendor' s development of different products. ? Placing of purchase orders on vendors. ? Preparation of Pre Shipment Documents including, Insurance Cover / Policies, Custom Invoice
