• Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) is one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s leading providers of communications, information and entertainment products and services to consumers, businesses and governmental agencies. Within Verizon Communications, the Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) serves the consumer segment for both the company\xe2\x80\x99s wireless and wireline businesses, including wireless wholesale, with 2020 revenues of $88.5 billion, representing 69% of Verizon\xe2\x80\x99s consolidated revenues.
• The CXO within VCG will develop and execute VCG-as-a-Platform (VCG-aaP) strategy to enable business model expansion and operating model transformation. The Platform Strategy & Business Architecture function of the team will bring new strategic capabilities to VCG by shaping the long-term vision for platform aspirations, including the development of the vision, strategy, business architecture
  and business blueprint such that it underpins the overall VCG strategy. The position will collaborate closely with senior leadership across Verizon in developing an E2E business platform architecture that supports VCG\xe2\x80\x99s ambitions and in shaping strategic decisions and in providing guidance for future investments. The role will play a significant part in driving the team that is responsible for platform pipeline worth over $1B, enabling product pipeline worth over $10B, and supporting a cost basis of over $10B.The role will also drive and influence the roadmap for deployment of the technology budget of over $300m across the VCG.
• The Sr Cslt Tect Product Management Business Architecture will be in a visible role that requires a mix of proven team leadership skills, strong technical acumen, and experience in the commercialization of products (product to market) to drive the next generation of the VCG\xe2\x80\x99s platform aspirations. The Key will be to apply strategic thinking and technical understanding to be able to shape the modular architecture of business capabilities in support of the VCG-aaP strategy and roadmaps.

The function\xe2\x80\x99s purpose is to partner with VCG CxOs, AI&D, GTS (NSA) to develop & evolve E2E business platform architecture, while shaping strategic requirements in close collaboration with the business (i.e., CxO demand).

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for...

• Partnering with VCG CxOs, Chief Data Officer, and Global Technology Solutions to develop and evolve E2E business platform architecture
• Shaping business capabilities and platform modularity requirements in close collaboration with the business (i.e., CxO demand)
• Advising for strategic initiatives - Create Business Architecture documents for all CXO requests
• Aligning with VCG Agile Practice and yearly and 5 year planning exercises
• Building the business capabilities blueprint, identifying common components defining the requirements for commercialization while evangelizing this business architecture and blueprint with other parts of P&E organization for consistent strategic alignment
• Supporting VCG-as-a-Platform strategy by matching business needs with fit-for-purpose business capabilities
• Coordinating with other parts of the business to drive key artifacts to serve as/provide the backdrop to strategic platform development and enablement.
• Advising delivery teams on the art of the possible, informed by technology advancements
• Keeping the blueprint refreshed on a regular basis with inputs from the business, technology teams, and capital planning processes
• Working with the P&E team to continuously get inputs on evolving capabilities and gaps vis-a-vis market needs and identify changes to the business architecture blueprint accordingly

You\xe2\x80\x99ll need to have:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or four or more years of experience.
• Six or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience in platform architecture and technology management experience in platform / technology led businesses
• Experience in business architecture development and management
• Experience in a large, complex organization with service offerings in the U.S.
• Experience in bringing an enterprise-wide perspective; understands all revenue streams and how channels operate across the organization and the importance of a coherent long-term corporate/ BU/ platform strategy
• Experience in the telecommunications industry and/or technical expertise in the development of business and/or enterprise architecture
• Experience or knowledge of digital market dynamics and best practices
• Experience operating and making appropriate adjustments in a complex, changing, dynamic environment
• Experience communicating and working with executive-level stakeholders on a regular basis.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• MBA or higher degree in business or engineering.
• Tech strategy and/or telecom consulting experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to create / deliver succinct executive-level presentations to communicate vision and concepts / opportunities to all levels of the organization
• Proven ability to manage issues through to resolution
• Extensive experience with developing and executing strategies and initiatives across business functions.
• Extensive experience in successfully leading projects delivering E2E digital capabilities including technical design, process re-engineering, and technology.
• Deep understanding of agile program delivery and methodology (certifications preferred)
• Experience creating road maps and detailed financial business cases for change, specifically developing robust business cases to support and prioritize new concepts / opportunities
• Experience with transformational projects at the enterprise level

• Designs, develops, and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Works on design, process, manufacturing, test, and quality as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product\xe2\x80\x99s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line. Uses experience, expertise and skills to make recommendations and solve problems that are more difficult and infrequent.
• • Work on project/product plans, schedules, and deliverables for assigned technical clients, working with the client to determine project strategies and objectives.
• • Monitor project progress and results, intervening and developing solutions when necessary to ensure timelines and obligations are met.
• • Analyze, recommend and administer revisions or alternative solutions for product/process design, methods of procedure, or other project decisions.
  • Manage and support the project/product budgets, identifying possible risks and opportunities.
  • Interact with the various teams involved in the project, leading regular meetings and ensuring participants have the necessary resources to complete their tasks.
  • Coordinate communication across teams/ stakeholder and provide status updates on projects.
