Job Summary
To be responsible for Quality Assurance & Quality Control.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
EHS&S:
Ensures all work is conducted in a safe and effective manner and all applicable procedures and policies are followed. Takes action to correct unsafe acts, systems and procedures. It is the responsibility of each employee to work in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace. Complies with all job-related safety and other training requirements.
Participates in the raw material review boards with EH&S.
Assesses Quality and Health Care training needs and provides training to the sites associates and more targeted training when needed.
Follows current waste disposal procedures and prevention procedures. Ensures proper storage and disposal of liquid and solid hazardous wastes.
Quality Management System:
Ensures that a sound quality management system is implemented and maintained.
Ensures that all testing is carried out in accordance with Avient Lab Performance Policy and that all product grading is accomplished in a timely and accurate manner.
Participates in the in-house quality audits. Maintains quality (ISO) documentation.
Interface with external certifying bodies, regulatory authorities, and customer in relation to audits.
Partner effectively with sales, production, product stewardship and Color designers' team.
Performs standard tests on assigned product line production batches and on some incoming raw materials as needed, ensuring the meeting of Avient and the customer's specifications.
Suggests facilities, procedural and process improvements to maintain and improve production quality, safety, cost, and efficiency. Contribute to the effort during implementation of selected improvements.
Trouble shootings of moulding product & process, and failure analysis of polymeric products.
In depth Knowledge of Inorganic and Organic pigments along with Metallic effect/Pearl-scent/ Fluorescent pigment.
Should be able to match customer specific sample as per requirement of customer keeping in mind target cost of the customer.
Should have good knowledge of online matching during production.
Process:
Ensures that process conditions are monitored and controlled for product consistency and according to the specified conditions. Collaboration with process engineer.
Ensures that products and process changes are made only according to the sequence of activities specified in the MSA/ CSA process.
Permanently scouts for process improvements applying lean tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
Assesses training needs and provides training to production employees.
Experience to handle: Injection moulding, Film plant, Two roll mill/press, Labsize extruder, FPV extruder, Melt flow index apparatus.
Customer Complaint:
Represents the plant and Avient in all aspects of professional dealings with customers, the technology community and the commercial group.
Coordinates investigation and corrective action on all plant-related customer complaints.
Resolves and communicates customer complaints and handles quality related questions from internal and external sources.
Oversees investigations, root cause analysis together with corrective and preventive actions on all plant-related customer complaints, CAPA process and other deviations.
Conducting trials to observe and verify the problem at customer end. Finding out the route cause at our end.
Implementation of new methods to reduce the repeatability of the complaint.
Coordination with the marketing team. Reuse raw material and dump finished product.
Additional Responsibility:
Other projects/duties as assigned.
Collaborates with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure the manufacturing-related processes are in control and that all product produced at the facility meets the requirements of the end-use customer via functions of the QC laboratory.
Oversees overall compliance of lab equipment. Ensuring proper calibration and verification.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelors in science with PGD-PPT or B. E/ B. Tech in Plastics/Polymers
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Masterbatches and Compounds or related field
