• JOB PURPOSE

Work under the direction of India Testing Leader to develop standards, create experimental set-ups, and conduct testing for the existing products, new products, and advanced development projects. Coordinate the daily activities of the Biotechnology & Materials Lab of KIC. Work towards lab accreditation and certification.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES





Design guidelines and standards to create a strong Hygiene vertical for engineering.



Results:


Understanding of Current Kohler design guidelines and global requirements concerning incorporation of antimicrobials and other sterilization techniques in the product.



• Responsible for creating and maintaining the necessary standards and guidelines for products considering from hygiene perspective.
• Analysis of existing standards available for hygiene, antimicrobials, sterilization techniques used in other/cross product categories.
• Knowledge of standards for testing antimicrobial efficacy (JISZ28001, ISO22196, ISO27447), water standards (IS10500, BIS, NSF), standards for testing disinfectants, toxicology.
• Sound knowledge of Microbiological and water related test equipments.



Design and Execute Experiments and Testing in the field of microbiology, chemical analysis and material verification.



Results:


• Optimized and validated test results.



• Experimental design for new and advanced development projects.



• New Product & Advanced Development projects aResearch analysis to testing to result validation
• Evaluating the technical feasibility of new product concepts and potential modifications to existing products.
• Responsible for creating and designing experiments for proof of concept and validation. (DOE, Minitab)
• New testing protocols development as per requirement (As per product requirement: surface, finish and chemical testing)
• Assisting product Engineers globally in the selection of antimicrobials compound for specific material and proving its efficacy



Lab Certification and products certification with respect to field of hygiene.



Results:


• Certification and accreditation of test labs.
• Product certification for antimicrobial efficacy.



• Lab certification and accreditation as per ISO and NABL requirements.
• Assisting in certification of the products for Hygiene labelling and antimicrobial efficacy as per Global requirement.
• Test validations for acquiring the certification/labelling.



Lab operation and maintenance.



Results:


• Create a globally recognized Biotechnology lab.
• Data and records maintenance.


• Being responsible & accountable for all lab related activities.


• Lab Records and data documentation
• Periodic upgradation of the protocols
• Maintenance of lab related activities
• Benchmarking and upgrade the lab equipment and procedures with new technology in market



Assist engineers in Material/Finish Analysis.



Results:

Coordinate with the WI Materials Lab and verify/Qualify materials for new product.



• Help in identifying and verifying new finish for CPD & NPD projects.

D. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• B.Tech Biotech/ B.Sc Biotech/ Microbiology



• 2~3 years of experience in Biotech, Food or Pharma industry concerning hygiene, sterility
• Experience in Microbiological Techniques & Water analysis equipment
• Experience with LIMS

Knowledge of ISO 17025/ ISO 9001/QMS
