Location(s)Bangalore, KarnatakaCompanyMolexCareer FieldEngineeringJob Number151307Your JobAs a Senior Product Design Engineer, you are Responsible for leading and contributing to the design and development of High-speed cable connector products from concept to production. Creating Models and drawings for sales, manufacturing, thermal analysis, and production. Good Interaction with Marketing, Manufacturing, Electrical engineering, AQP and software team.Our TeamOur team based out in India supports High speed external cables assemblies which includes design, development and validation through a standard NPI and PDP processes.What You Will Do

• Lead the design and development of electromechanical products or connectors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, PCB designers, Sourcing, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components.

• Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of product designs, utilizing tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), DFM, NUDD and TA to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential design limitations and propose effective solutions.

• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts and optimize product performance.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, assisting in their professional development.

• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source components and materials, ensuring compliance with cost and quality targets.

• Conduct thorough testing and validation of prototypes, analyzing test data and implementing design improvements as necessary.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements, incorporating innovative technologies and methodologies into product designs.

• Follow NPI and PDP process to develop and implement new products per industry standards on time.

• Good knowledge of Metrology, Geometric dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and Tolerance analysis.

• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.

• Work globally with teams to bring products to production.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in mechanical engineering
• 8-9 years design experience of electromechanical products, connector products.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Proficient with technical models and drawings creation for simulation and manufacturing needs.
• Proficient with Drafting, Wire routing, surfacing using NX Tool
• Experience with a PLM tools like Teamcenter.
• Experience in DFM, DFMEA, Tolerance stack-up and Component validation & Qualification
• Possess good knowledge in Manufacturing, Fabrication and Plastic Components
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials selection.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electromechanical products or connectors (e.g., IEC, UL, RoHS).
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
