Need another reason to apply Check out these 8 reasons to join Stryker\'s engineering team: Brief about the Role: The position serves as a manufacturing expert of machining operations and requires coordination of work with R&D, Operations, sub-contractors, engineering and management to ensure timely delivery of quality prototypes. Roles & Responsibilities: .Plan machining projects by studying work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings/CAD models, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and quality parameters interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). .Build and develop fixtures at supplier\'s end. .Planning, organizing, reviewing & execute outsourcing requests of prototypes from external suppliers. .Identify and evaluate technical capabilities of new suppliers. .Technical discussion and finalize on quality and timeline commitment of prototypes from external suppliers. .Communicate & Coordinate with external suppliers for on time delivery. .Initiate Non-Conformances if any prototype goes out of specification. .Understand technical requirement from requestor & communicate with external supplier for prototype development. .Perform incoming inspection of all prototypes delivered from external supplier. .Continuous follow up to ensure on time delivery of prototypes. .Co-ordinate with different stake holders for smooth execution of prototype development at supplier\'s end. .Generate report on different KPIs related to outsourcing activity. .Initiate DFM discussions with project team for manufacturing feasibility .Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc. .Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments, respecting the criticality of requirements. .Communicates with supervisor to offer suggestions pertinent to equipment, process needs & improvements. .Provide inputs on Capex, Opex & budget planning. .Performs other duties as directed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: .Minimum 8 years of experience with supplier development & hands on operation on latest machining technologies like 5 Axis Mills, Turn-Mills, Wire-cut, EDM, 3Axis Mill, Turning Machines, tool setup, editing and inspection in prototype and production environments .Minimum 5 years\' experience in managing suppliers for prototyping activity. .Experience with CAD/CAM software like hyperMILL, Unigraphics - NX .Experience with planning, estimating and reporting . .Excellent attention to detail the challenges and propose solutions. .Able to read & interpret technical drawings with GDnT. .Work well independently and within a team and can coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers .Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade .Manage, motivate and engage a team of talented resources. .Needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time .Excellent communication skills, both written and oral .Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands .Familiarity with manufacturing excellence including modern techniques based on lean manufacturing, 5S, waste elimination and visual communication. .A demonstrated ability to address practical problems and make decisions Desired Profile Education: Degree in Mechanical engineering/Tool and Die making or equivalent Experience: Min. 8 Years in a manufacturing (Tool room/R&D/Prototype) setup Software Proficiency - Unigraphics- NX, hyperMILL, Microsoft Power Point Manufacturing Proficiency - CNC Machines like Mills, Turns, Wire EDMs, EDMs and 5 Axis Machines.
