Summary Looking for Outstanding AI Senior Director in Healthcare As a Senior Director of AI in a newly formed GE Healthcare AI organization, you will be responsible for leading teams, Principal Scientists and lead the site to define, develop, deliver and execute on our science roadmap and vision around foundation models and Generative AI leveraging large healthcare data sets. As a Senior Director of AI, you will focus on exciting generative vision, text, speech, time-series, and multi modal problems related to segmentation, object detection, large-scale generative models, large-scale pretraining, prompt tuning, distillation, robustness, responsible AI, quantization, etc. Additionally, you will be responsible for: Leading AI research and development efforts to provide automation of clinical tasks using one or more of medical images, electronic medical records, waveforms, and clinical reports. Hiring, growing, and managing highly educated and independent AI scientists and manages building foundational models and generative AI. Setting the roadmap and own the Objective and Key Results (OKR) for AI/ML systems that power key experience on GEHC websites and apps. Driving Strategy and defining best practices for the Generative AI team. Participating in key technical and design discussions with technical leads as a hands-on manager. Driving research innovation, technical excellence, business impact, staying current on published state-of-the-art algorithms and competing technologies, and identifying areas of opportunity for the team. Fostering collaboration across the AI/ML research teams and with other cross-functional teams. Building strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide strategic input on AI research initiatives. Driving org wide initiatives by developing large-scale frameworks to accelerate the application of machine learning models across different areas of the business. Operating at business breath and technical depth, understanding details of company goals, as well as being able to navigate and influence the GEHC data platform and AI/ML technology stacks. Helping to grow a larger AI science and analytics community within GEHC. Innovate and execute on the R&D strategy around image analytics aligned with the GEHC business initiatives in a broad set of areas (Patient monitoring, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Molecular theranostics, Molecular Diagnostics, etc.). Drive cutting edge research in core imaging and signal processing problems Participate in strategic collaborations with top universities and pharma/biotech Asset and value enhancement through leading (i) IP strategy execution, (i) establishment of the AI algorithm store (iii) cross-fertilization of inter-disciplinary technologies Support platform development for reusable service-oriented architectures Continuous evaluation and feedback to teams and direct reports Work closely with the Technical Product Management in technical topics of relevance Budget planning and monitoring PhD in the Engineering/Sciences with specialization in Medical Imaging & Image processing. Minimum 10+ years of experience managing technical teams interfacing with senior leadership, finance, HR, and legal. Deep desire and passion to collaboratively shape and scale high potential teams engaged on path-breaking technologies and demonstrated perseverance towards translation to product. 5+ years of experience (excluding Ph.D. study) Expertise and experience as individual contributor in technology organization directly in multi-dimensional signal analytics, modeling, reconstruction, processing, time series monitoring and interpretation of medical data. Domain knowledge of topics related to Medical Imaging, Image Analysis, Computer Vision fields, Machine Learning & Applied Mathematics. Experience with high-dimensional imaging data and waveform/time-series data. Experience working with large scale AI training. Experience with various MLOps, ModelOps, FMOps (Foundation Model Ops) methods. Experience with core machine learning techniques and advanced analytics (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series, ranking and applied Bayesian statistics and dynamic linear models, NLP, Computer vision), and technologies (Kubernetes, spark, Databrick, GPU, etc.) Publication record in top conferences (such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, etc.). Proven track record of mentoring & leading technical team in Medical Imaging and Analytics and delivering solutions to business Outstanding ability to understand business needs, product portfolios and formulate research problems Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to motivate others on topics of interest Exceptional Team player and ability to prioritize work for oneself and team Skills to influence Cross functional teams within GE HealthCare. Strong Experience and demonstrated capability to handle challenges with vague or abstract problem definition.
