Sr. Director, Accounting

Job Description


The Sr. Director, Accounting is responsible for the ongoing development, modification and review of accounting systems, reporting methodologies and associated controls. In this role you will:

  • Direct, coordinate, and administer accounting operations which may include general accounting, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Oversee the analyses of records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate ledger maintenance, report preparation, and operating statistics
  • Maintain company budgets and related analysis, review/perform periodic balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis and takes appropriate follow-up action as required
  • Be responsible for directing a team that maintains separate general ledger in local currency for inclusion in the companys consolidated financial statements
  • Collaborate with management in matters related to the preservation of capital and assets
  • Serve as primary contact for annual audits and coordinating client assistance requested by the auditors
  • Make recommendations on and maintain budgeting systems, which provides necessary oversight of company expenditures
  • Typically direct a staff of 3-5, responsible for general accounting duties company-wide, across international geographies.
We are looking for someone who has:Required Education and Experience
  • B.S. in Accounting with 10 years of job related experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to direct staff and work well in a team environment
Preferred Education and Experience
  • 3-4 years experience working with an ERP system such as MAS90 or Sage100
  • Experience in a multinational environment with foreign currency translation and responsibility for directing remote accounting operations, including vendor provided services.
