The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

  • Lead in the full development life cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery, support and maintenance.
  • Analyse source data systems and drive best practices in source teams.
  • Implement data ingestion routines both real time and batch using best practices in data modelling, ETL / ELT processes.
  • Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable and operable solutions that work well within the overall data architecture.
  • Evaluate and make decisions around dataset implementations designed and proposed by peer data engineers. Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools.
  • Building large database models for Balance Sheet, P&L, Cost analytics and related ratios.
  • Using Dataiku ETL tool to develop real time and batch data processes feeding into in- Memory data infrastructure using Apache Arrow.
  • To design data reflection optimization using partitions, sorting and virtualized views accelerate query times by reducing query planning and reading times within Dremio data infrastructure.
  • Mentor junior data engineers.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Strong academic record at Bachelor\'s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree level in Business, Economics, Finance from a well-recognized institution.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in the design, creation, management, and business use of extremely large datasets.
  • 1 - 2 full cycle experience in building SAC solutions.
  • Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets.
  • Excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.
  • Extensive experience in the full data project life cycles around large-scale, high-volume and high-performance data structures for analytics and deep learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with colleagues from different time zones and cultures.
  • Advanced knowledge of data cleaning, validation, and related tools.
  • Advanced Python scripting and data wrangling development skills.
  • Advanced SQL development skills.
