About the team

Payrix is part of WorldPay (an FIS company), who invented payment facilitation enabling technology companies to provide integrated payment solutions, significantly expanding access to modern payment methods to SMBs and rejuvenating the end-user experience.

What you will be doing

You will be hands-on designing and evolving our cloud data platform. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be solving new challenges on a daily basis as we build out new advanced data processing capabilities to serve analytics, data sharing, reporting and machine learning use cases.

• Solving engineering problems across the big data ecosystem

• Working with modern cloud data engineering tools (Airflow, Snowflake, Spark, Databricks, Kafka)

• Driving the design and implementation of technical solutions with other developers and architects

• Using \xe2\x80\x9cmonitoring driven development\xe2\x80\x9d to ensure operational quality from the outset

• Designing for system observability with Prometheus, Telegraf, ELK stack, Splunk etc.

What you bring:

• Deep technical understanding formed from a hands-on programming and/or computer science background

• Programming mastery in at least one of Python, Scala

• Familiarity with TDD, BDD, CI/CD and modern devops/automation tools

• Experience of high-volume transactional systems

• Passion for devops and maximising developer efficiency

• Experience operating in one of the major public clouds (or relevant certifications)

Added bonus if you have:

• Experience with either Spark or Kafka
• Big Data - batch and stream processing applications

• Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, adoop, Hbase, Hive, Parquet/ORC, Athena

• Understanding of columnar stores, partitioning and clustering

• Cloud experience or certifications, particularly AWS

• Understanding of secure coding and secure infra

• Hands-on capability with Terraform, Ansible, Sqitch

• ML background (e.g. Jupyter, Pydata)
