Title: Sr. Counsellor for Chandigarh University

1. Academic Counselling:
- Provide comprehensive academic and career guidance to students and help them in making informed decisions about their educational paths.
- Assist students in understanding different educational programs, courses, prerequisites, and career opportunities.
- Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to address individual concerns, clarify goals, and develop academic plans.
- Assess students\' skills, interests, and aspirations to guide them towards appropriate programs and courses.

2. Admissions Support:
- Collaborate with admissions teams to facilitate the recruitment and enrolment process.
- Assist prospective students in completing application forms, collecting necessary documents, and adhering to admissions procedures.
- Conduct assessments, interviews, and aptitude tests to evaluate applicants\' suitability for specific programs.
- Review and evaluate application materials, including transcripts, recommendation letters, and personal statements.

3. Student Support and Development:
- Actively engage with students to provide emotional and social support throughout their university experience.
- Create and implement programs to enhance personal growth, time management skills, motivation, and study habits among students.
- Assist in resolving conflicts between students, faculty, and administration, ensuring a harmonious university environment.
- Advocate for students\' needs, whether academic, extracurricular, or personal, to help them achieve their fullest potential.

4. Career Counselling:
- Conduct workshops and seminars to educate students about job market trends, resume writing, interview techniques, and post-graduation opportunities.
- Facilitate internships, industry visits, and guest lectures to expose students to real-world scenarios and industry expectations.
- Provide personalized career advice to help students align their talents, skills, and ambitions with suitable career choices.
- Liaise with potential employers to explore job placement opportunities for graduating students.

5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of counselling sessions, student interactions, and progress.
- Prepare reports and documentation for university administration and regulatory bodies as required.
- Collect and analyze data related to student satisfaction, success rates of counselling interventions, and career outcomes.

Qualifications:
- A master\'s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field is required.
- Proven experience in a counseling role, preferably within an educational institution.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of academic programs, admissions procedures, and career opportunities.
- Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and student development frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical behavior at all times.
