DESCRIPTIONThe Core Shopping organization is responsible for building the experiences and systems that enable every customer on earth to discover, evaluate, and purchase products and services across the Amazon store. We build core experiences, common across all shopping journeys, as well as experiences tailored to the needs of specific products, businesses or locales. To enable innovation at this scale we empower builders across Amazon to develop these unique shopping experiences within our pages and systems on behalf of customers. The Core Shopping analytics team owns the analytics charter to support data needs for Navigation, Homepage, Inspire, App First, Detail Page, Offer Display, Cart, Checkout, Add-to-Cart and Address experiences.Key job responsibilities
You are an Analytics subject matter expert for the Buying Experience team, presenting the best and most relevant product/offer evaluation information for every customer\'s shopping mission. You will own the core datasets to understand how customers engage with core features on Detail Page to evaluate a product. You will develop a framework to understand the levers that drive a successful experience and build automated reporting with actionable insights for stakeholders to improve it. You will deliver in-depth analysis and recommendations to drive the product roadmap, generating incremental business value. You will partner with Science teams to improve relevance. As the chief evangelist, you will drive adoption of your dataset and mental model across the Consumer organization.A day in the life
We build in 5-week Sprints with a 1 week for planning and 4 weeks for execution. Planning Week is used to groom the backlog and to scope & prioritize projects. We reserve the Friday of every Planning Week for a self-directed Learning Day. Over the 4 Execution Weeks, we have regular stand-ups and a mid-sprint demo. Projects will vary sprint to sprint among building derived/aggregate datasets, conducting analysis, and pushing learnings to customers.About the team
Core Shopping Analytics elevates the shopping experience for every customer through data and analytics. We do this by: 1) publishing comprehensive, broadly accessible datasets that reflect the customer experience across the shopping journey; 2) creating tools for Builders across Amazon to consume this data; and 3) identifying opportunities and actionable insights to improve the experiences and systems. We are the analytic counterpart for all the teams under the Core Shopping umbrella. In addition to these teams, we also empower the 350+ Partner teams who build on CS experiences. The 14+ person team includes Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Scientists.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Bangalore, KA, INDBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 10+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data miningPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
