What We\'ll Bring: The Application Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance and performance of critical applications and services, to ensure availability and consistent performance of our corporate estate. Working in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be service focused and will contribute towards the continuous improvement and optimisation of our internal and client facing services.

What You\'ll Bring: \xe2\x80\xa2 Configure and maintain application processes and services including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. \xe2\x80\xa2 Define and document standard operating principles and maintenance procedures. \xe2\x80\xa2 Identify operational process gaps and contribute to their resolution. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide input into the technical architecture and technology roadmap. \xe2\x80\xa2 Produce and maintain operational technical documentation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Independently analyse and solve complex problems where a precedent may not exist. \xe2\x80\xa2 Assist developers with complex monitoring refinements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide technical consultancy and knowledge support to the wider business. \xe2\x80\xa2 Manage external third-party relationships as and when required. \xe2\x80\xa2 May also include travel to other TransUnion sites and unsociable hours up to and not limited to 24/7 and on call support.

Impact You\'ll Make: \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge of providing technical support of business-critical applications on multi-tiered environments. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience of using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools including but not limited to Nagios, Splunk, What\xe2\x80\x99s Up Gold, and SCOM. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience of troubleshooting complex applications and services. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify root cause and permanent resolution. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong organisational and time management skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent documentation, interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. \xe2\x80\xa2 An understanding of the ITIL framework. \xe2\x80\xa2 Experience of providing technical support within the financial services industry.
