Role: Java Application Support/ ITSM Event Management


Experience: 4-6 Years


Location: Hybrid. All BSL ODC location


Job Responsibilities:


1. Support Mission-critical financial applications with sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII data)


2. Monitor production jobs and ensure their scheduled execution


3. Create Standard Operating Procedure documents


4. Triage production issues and provide solutions as per Standard Operating Procedure documents


5. Document problem, solutions in the ticketing tools & knowledge base


6. Communicate appropriately & effectively with business, technical teams


7. Work well under pressure with a methodical approach to problem solving


8. Prioritize multiple tasks and manage/assign tasks between team members


9. Monitor application health, perform application/service restarts as per Standard Operating Procedures


10. Monitor, edit, create scheduler jobs


11. Deploy and manage applications, services on Microsoft Windows and cloud environments


12. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the code.


Primary skills that are must have for the candidate:


• The Event Manager have subject matter expert-level knowledge of a Monitoring Solutions such as NewRelic, Splunk, PagerDuty, etc.,


• Experienced ITIL Event Manager, whose role will primarily involve event management monitoring IT Applications & infrastructure on production system.


• Supporting the Authority to develop best practices and if required, implementing such practices in relation to: Configuration of relevant systems with respect to Events and Alerts. Activities which will result in the detection, notification, filtering and correlation of all Events and Alerts.


• Engineering and managing Event Management Dashboards.


• Identifying circumstances where an Alert is required and configuring Alerts to meet the requirements of the Event Management Service stakeholders. Also, event correlation, noise reduction, improved MTTR etc.,


• Continuously strive to improve the customer experience: Full lifecycle support to event management & observability and monitoring.


• Experience of implementing PagerDuty Integrations, Event Orchestration & Automation Action


• Collaborate with cross functional operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance with the help of event management.


• Experience of Integration of monitoring tools like NewRelic, Splunk, etc., and other appliances/applications into PagerDuty to monitor and analyze system health and events.


• Develop and execute automation scripts for health checks, alerts, and auto remediation of the events


• Perform routine maintenance and operational tasks to ensure smooth system functionality.


Secondary skills that are good to have for the right candidate:


1. Any of Job schedulers - Autosys or Visual Cron or Control-M or Ansible or Cron


2. Any of the log analyzers - Splunk or Dynatrace or Datadog


3. Any of the application performance monitoring tools like New Relic, AppDynamics or Dynatrace


4. Experience in Kafka and RabbitMQ


5. Cloud, Microservices, Message Queues, NoSQL, CI/CD


Work hours:


1. Should be able to work with distributed teams in different time zones at onshore, offshore


2. Should be working in 24x7 model with rolling shifts


3. Open to supporting the team during weekends/holidays as per the needs
