Job Description

he Senior Accountant in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, preparing monthly and annual financial statements, managing budgets, and supporting management with financial analysis. The role requires close collaboration with both operational and financial teams to ensure financial transparency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

• Financial Reporting :
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and provide insights to senior management.
• General Ledger Management :
• Oversee the general ledger, ensuring proper recording of transactions.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
• Budgeting & Forecasting :
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Monitor and report on cost control in relation to QSR operations, such as food, labor, and overhead expenses.
• Cash Flow Management :
• Monitor daily cash flows and ensure there is adequate liquidity for operations.
• Reconcile cash balances, including petty cash, daily sales, and bank transactions.
• Inventory Management :
• Oversee inventory records and valuations, ensuring accuracy.
• Perform periodic inventory counts, working closely with the operations team to verify inventory levels.
• Ensure proper accounting for food and beverage cost controls.
• Compliance & Taxation :
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Prepare and file tax returns (sales, payroll, income, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, industry guidelines, and internal controls.
• Internal Controls & Audit :
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and financial data.
• Develop, implement, and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration :
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance and training where necessary.
• Collaborate with other departments (operations, HR, etc.) to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Work with senior management to advise on financial strategies and cost-saving opportunities.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting :
• Analyze restaurant sales data, expense reports, and operational performance to provide actionable insights.
• Provide management with accurate, timely, and relevant financial reports for decision-making.
• Other Responsibilities :
• Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
