Jr. SQL Server Administrator
Role Summary & Role Description
This SQL Server Database Admin will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our client applications. This is a "hands-on" position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.• Requirements analysis and system design.
• Download and install SQL Server service packs and updates.
• Configure and maintain SQL Security controls
• Make recommendations for system architecture per Microsoft SQL Server best practices
• Manage database backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery planning, in coordination with the IT manager and System Engineer
• Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans
• Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible
• Troubleshoot application sluggishness and poor performance
• In charge of T-SQL query tuning
• In charge of database migrations and server updates
• Create documentation and training for routine database administration activities, as well as train server operations employees on them
• In charge of big data ETL into SQL Server, as well as authoring and modifying SQL Server Reporting Services reports
• Integrate SQL Server with corporate applications
• T-SQL (Transact-SQL) Programming Perform any extra responsibilities that are allocated to you
• Write stored procedures and T-SQL.
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Production support as needed.
• End to end understanding of software architecture, design, development and implementation.
• Continuous integration and build process, test automation and deployment.
Core/Must have skills• Strong Practical experience using Scrum, Agile modelling and adaptive software development.
• Proven problem solving, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data analysis.
• In-depth knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to database management
• Experience in working on various MS SQL Database versions 2016,2017, 2019, 2022
• Experience in applying SQL Server service packs and database upgrades on same server and new server.
• Experience in Database performance tuning and troubleshooting users and application related issues
• Experience in continuous process improvement and automation using PowerShell
• Experience in HA solutions like Always ON setup and maintenance, Log shipping, Database mirroring and replication
• Experience in SQL Server cluster
• Experience in Upgrade, Patching and migration to On Prem and Cloud
• Experience in Database security and encryption setup using TDE and masking
• Manage database backup and recovery, as well as disaster recovery planning
• Create, change, and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans.
• Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed processes, and address issues as soon as possible.
• Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud.
• Providing database support for development and deployment of database scripts in Development, Test, Pre-Production and Production environments
• Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users
• Excellent English communications skills (written and verbal)
