Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

Note - Experience required In Mogo DB or No SQL

Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our SQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role requires in-depth knowledge of SQL Server, database architecture, backup and recovery strategies, and optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities :

• Database Management :
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases.
• Monitor and maintain database performance, ensuring high availability and efficient data retrieval.
• Ensure regular backups, updates, and patches for SQL Server instances.
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including encryption and access controls.
• Performance Optimization :
• Analyse database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexing, and database structures.
• Implement and monitor indexing strategies for optimal query performance.
• Use performance tuning techniques to optimize large datasets and complex queries.
• Backup and Recovery :
• Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
• Perform regular backup validation and disaster recovery tests.
• Ensure data consistency and integrity during recovery processes.
• Database Security :
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Manage user roles, permissions, and audit logs to control database access.
• Regularly review database security and access controls.
• Troubleshooting and Support :
• Provide 24/7 support for database-related incidents, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• Address database-related incidents such as performance degradation, downtime, or failures.
• Documentation & Reporting :
• Maintain accurate documentation of database architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Generate regular performance reports and provide recommendations for system improvements.
• Collaboration and Training :
• Work closely with developers and other IT teams to support database-driven applications.
• Provide guidance and training to junior DBAs and other stakeholders on SQL best practices.

Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience :
• Minimum of [X] years of experience as an SQL Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (versions [e.g., 2012/2016/2019]).
• Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, and high-availability solutions (e.g., Always On, clustering).
• Knowledge of database replication, log shipping, and other disaster recovery techniques.
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Redgate, SolarWinds).
• Skills :
• Proficient in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and other SQL programming techniques.
• Strong understanding of database architecture and design.
• Experience with cloud-based SQL databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS) is a plus.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments is a plus.
