Job Title: SQL Database Administrator (DBA)

Location : Bengaluru

Experience : 4-8 Years

We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, integrity, and security of SQL databases. As an SQL DBA, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of database management, from development and deployment to optimization and backup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Installation and Configuration : Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances, patches, and versions as per business needs.
• Performance Monitoring : Continuously monitor and optimize SQL Server performance by tuning queries, indexes, and database structures.
• Backup and Recovery : Plan, implement, and execute database backups and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Database Security : Implement and enforce database security policies to safeguard sensitive data, including user access controls and data encryption.
• Troubleshooting and Support : Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance degradation, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
• Database Design and Maintenance : Collaborate with developers to design efficient databases and maintain existing structures. Optimize database design for performance, scalability, and security.
• Capacity Planning : Monitor database growth and perform capacity planning to ensure the database infrastructure can scale to meet future demands.
• Data Migration and Upgrades : Lead data migration efforts and ensure smooth upgrades to new SQL Server versions.
• Automation and Scripting : Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and automation routines for database maintenance tasks.
• Disaster Recovery Planning : Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure rapid recovery of databases in case of failure.
• Collaboration : Work closely with development, network, and system administrators to integrate databases into the overall system infrastructure.
• Compliance and Auditing : Ensure databases comply with industry regulations and internal standards; assist with audits as required.

Qualifications:

• Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience :
• 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Experience with high-availability setups, disaster recovery, and SQL Server clustering.
• Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and database design.
• Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
• Technical Skills :
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server (2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019).
• Proficient in Transact-SQL (T-SQL) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud-based SQL services (Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, batch scripts) for database automation.
• Certifications : Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or other relevant certifications is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?389,240.75 - ?1,531,908.98 per year
