The Sports Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all sports activities and programs within the school. This role involves working with students, teachers, and parents to promote a positive sports culture and ensure the effective implementation of athletic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program Development:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive sports program that aligns with the school's educational goals and curriculum.
• Design and organize intramural and interscholastic sports activities for students of all ages and skill levels.
• Event Management:
• Plan, coordinate, and manage sports events, tournaments, and competitions.
• Oversee scheduling of practices, games, and events, ensuring proper facilities and equipment are available.
• Team Management:
• Recruit, train, and supervise coaches and sports staff.
• Support and mentor student-athletes, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all sports activities adhere to safety standards and guidelines.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with school policies and regulations, as well as any relevant local or national sports regulations.
• Communication and Liaison:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for sports-related inquiries from parents, students, and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community organizations to enhance the sports program.
• Budget Management:
• Prepare and manage the sports program budget, including equipment purchases, facility maintenance, and event expenses.
• Seek sponsorships and fundraising opportunities to support sports programs.
• Reporting and Evaluation:
• Track and assess the effectiveness of sports programs and events.
• Provide regular reports and updates to school administration on program success and areas for improvement.
• Additional Duties:
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with trends and best practices in sports coordination.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal or head of the Physical Education department.
Qualifications
