The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Understand and apply the strategic architecture design principles and standards, Optimal data analytics architecture, design large, complex dashboards that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
Processes
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
People and Talent
  • Build the appropriate culture and values to be a role model. Acquire new skills to keep up the system update to date and to align bank wide new initiatives
  • Support & build strong high performing teams with demonstration of Thought leadership, Influencing and collaboration skills with a clear focus on driving results.
  • Ensuring an effective and robust employee performance management culture is in place. Driving an impactful managerial effectiveness by the people managers in the team to drive higher motivation and engagement levels.
  • Ensure all staffs are attending mandatory training programs and also arrange for domain based training wherever required
Risk Management
  • Perform process risk analysis to identify the gaps in the existing process.
  • Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in the role remit to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.
  • Ensure review of process documentation of all processes once in 6 months.
  • Ensure all staffs are attending mandatory training programs and also arrange for domain based training wherever required.
  • Support internal & external audits and ensure nil adverse comments.
Governance
  • Complying with all governance requirements \xe2\x80\x93 Process metrics review, BCP.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide timely information and support
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Work with Dev Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Other Responsibilities

Planning & Delivery
  • Responsible for end-to-end delivery that meets the agreed requirements and timelines
  • Translate business requirement into technical language and provide solution
  • Prior experience as a Technical lead.
  • Coordinate the production deployment activities.
  • Banking experience is a plus.
  • Manage communication with stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in designing, developing and implementing Big Data or Data lake solutions
  • Ability to Coordinate with multiple teams.
  • Follow SCB processes to release products to production and liaise with the risk owners to ensure their support and approvals are secured.
  • Use JIRA /Confluence as collaboration tool
Team Support
  • Support team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments
  • Assist in removing roadblocks to engineering team\xe2\x80\x99s work which includes liaising with partners including Risk / process Owners and country technology management teams
  • Helping the team avoid or remove impediments to progress / Mitigating and resolving risks and issues which may impair delivery.
  • Build relationships and partner with teams internal and external
  • Mentor team members and provide necessary technical support
Primary Skills
  • Very Strong on Hana, XSA, SQL, Python & Azure cloud/Data
  • Big Data & Hadoop
  • Devops, Spark SQL
Secondary Skills
  • JIRA, Confluence
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 2 plus years of project management experience in Banking Industry
  • Must have working experience in HANA, XSA & Hadoop
  • Proficiency in JIRA/Confluence usage
  • Acumen to understand cutting edge technologies and experience working with teams who build mobile apps, web apps on AWS Cloud using microservices.
  • Highly organised, independent and self-motivated
  • Results-orientated, able to deliver under pressure within short timeframes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong Communication skills - verbal and written
  • Experience working in fast paced environment
  • Experience working in collaborative working style, a solution-oriented mindset and attention to detail
