Job Summary
The Speech Therapist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in children with special needs. The therapist will work closely with families, educators, and with our medical team to create individualized treatment plans that address each child's unique challenges and strengths.
Key Responsibilities
• Assessment and Diagnosis
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, and communication skills.
• Use standardized tests and informal assessments to identify disorders and delays.
• Treatment Planning
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
• Set measurable goals and objectives in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Therapy and Intervention
• Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions focusing on speech articulation, language development, voice, fluency, and other relevant areas.
• Utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions.
• Family and Caregiver Support
• Educate and train families and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home.
• Provide regular updates on progress and involve families in the therapeutic process.
• Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports.
• Prepare and present reports for internal reviews and external stakeholders as needed.
• Collaboration and Teamwork
• Work closely with educators, psychologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to provide integrated care.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions.
• Professional Development
• Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and best practices in speech therapy.
• Attend workshops, seminars, and other continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
• Educational Requirements: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid licensure/certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a clinical or educational setting.
• Skills:
• Proficient in using diagnostic and therapeutic tools.
• Strong understanding of speech and language development in children.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate and patient approach towards children and families.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
