What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for
We are seeking individuals who can conduct plan approval of machinery components, pressure equipment, and piping systems in accordance with relevant international standards. The ideal candidate should possess the necessary procedures, experience, and knowledge to effectively appraise and assess plans related to these aspects for new building marine equipment and components, as well as conversions and in-service vessels.

The role

• Perform plan approval for machinery components, including marine engines, steer gears, windlasses, and winches, as well as pressure equipment. This should be done in strict accordance with the relevant Lloyd\xe2\x80\x99s Register Rules & Regulations, Statutory Regulations, and International Standards.
• Stay updated with revisions to Statutory, Rule, and Flag requirements, ensuring their proper implementation.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, fostering effective communication channels.
• Engage in technical discussions and provide expert advice to both internal and external clients.
• Present and discuss deliverables with both internal and external clients, offering suitable solutions when necessary.
• Carry out activities in accordance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

What you bring

• A Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Material Engineering, Pressure Vessels, or an equivalent field. Additionally, possess Chartered or Professional qualifications and be a member of a relevant professional institution.
• Extensive years of experience in offshore or marine machinery and engineering system design or appraisal. Alternatively, have experience in mechanical design or pressure vessels design gained from various sectors such as shipyards, classification societies, shipowners, design firms, manufacturers, pressure equipment plants, power plants, chemical plants, and oil refining facilities.
• Possess essential experience and knowledge in marine engineering, pressure equipment plants, power plants, or chemical plants, with a particular focus on one or more of the following areas: machinery components, pressure equipment, plastic pipes, plastic materials, or rubber.
• Familiarity with Quality Assurance systems and material properties is highly desirable.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, adept at prioritizing tasks, meeting both Lloyd\'s Register and client deadlines, and performing effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage in technical discussions with clients and maintain positive client relationships, with a client-focused mindset.
• Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the requirements of the work, along with effective interpersonal skills.
