Job Description

:The Specialist - Manufacturing Automation will serve as technical control system engineer as part of manufacturing value team (MVT) member supporting the DeltaV Product technical activities under the Process Control & Instruments Integration Product line. The Specialist is responsible for creating value enablers for the DeltaV product monitoring and deployment of those value enablers to worldwide manufacturing sites. These value enablers improve the operations efficiency, control system availability and performance. Responsibilities also include system upgrades, troubleshooting issues, identifying trends, process monitoring, system administration, documentation updates, data querying, operator training and participating in deviation investigations. Must be able to communicate clearly (oral and written) and frequently with operations and other support groups.

• Develop solutions for automation problems.
• Analyze complex business requirements using tools and techniques and identifies internal/external solutions to meet these requirements.
• Participate and contribute to investigations of automation anomalies to prevent a recurrence, which includes on-the-floor support of manufacturing activities.
• Understand the control systems infrastructure and able to perform control system administration monitoring using customized monitoring tool.
• Understand and support all GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Evaluate automated and information technology systems and develop strategies to optimize and ensure the quality and stability of automation systems through future expansion, replacement, or upgrade.
• Use their technical knowledge to assure the efficient operation of a variety of automated processing and information technology systems.
• Communicate with the business, technical, and quality representatives within the area of support through the tier process.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Experience of DeltaV system. DeltaV System configuration and administration.
• Experience with Aveva PI - data analysis, visualization development with PI Vision
• Ability to understand, update, design and implement required code modifications in DeltaV and Aveva PI tools.
• Experience with automation system design, start-up and/or qualification.
• Experience with capital projects execution in technical engineering role for DeltaV implementation, DeltaV System upgrade
• Experienced problem solver/troubleshooter, skilled in root cause analysis
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent organizational skills to multi-task.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong analytical thinking and technical writing skills
• Proficient in MS Office Platform and document storage systems
• A high level of innovation, creativity, and self-initiative

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Strong background in IT systems; specifically, integration of Automation systems with IT systems
• Networking experience; working knowledge of Enterprise Networking and local control networks.
• Pharmaceutical Operations experience, in a GMP Pilot Plant, Manufacturing environment or related facility
• Experience with Control / IT Systems Monitoring Solutions
