The Specialist - Applications Engineer governs applications across project and support structures, translation of business requirements into solution designs, impact analysis and delivery of solutions. What you will be doing
Key Accountabilities Delivers feasibility studies, solution designs, blueprints and specifications to meet business requirements for approved projects and governed change requests Develops and maintains the artefacts that define the technology blueprints for associated applications Develops, configures and/or codes high-quality applications that are secure, sustainable, cost efficient from an operational perspective and meet business needs Supports the full application development lifecycle of allocated projects including scoping, project definition, design, development, testing and implementation Maintains accurate and complete documentation for all aspects of application design, development and implementation Reviews proposed changes to the design and blueprints ensuring compliance to Orica's processes Ensures compliance to blueprint by operations team for system configuration or code changes required to be implemented as part of break fix Ensures all functional and technical production changes to systems and modules within area of responsibility adhere to quality requirements, processes and required standards Plans, tracks, monitors and reports on application delivery activities including compliance, schedule, budget, scope, quality, risks, issues, dependencies and benefits Maintains agreed pre-approved lists Contributes to, influences and assists with the IT application architecture design and 0 to 1-year strategy and roadmap to ensure this meets engineers & operational requirements Oversees project activities impacting systems within area of responsibility Manages and implements regular product releases and upgrades to area of responsibility with the operational teams and support vendors. Reviews vendor notifications, coordinate and perform impact assessments, provide updates and recommendations to GPDO's and key business stakeholders on impact and recommendations for optional enhancements Ensures appropriate communication to impacted business users and coordinate and perform testing and change management activities Ensures Orica's IT Assets are lifecycle managed for software applications within area of responsibility Provides SME advice and support to operational teams, assisting with escalations, root cause analysis, post incident reviews and business impact validation Ensures project teams and engineers effectively transition support and maintenance of solutions post implementation to operational teams Reviews operational reporting and ensure aligned to business and GPDO and attend Operational meetings with business stakeholders Creates and maintains documentation related to the installation, architecture, configuration, operation and troubleshooting for all applications Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the functionality and business processes of Orica's applications Ensures outsource, contract and software vendors deliver effective IT performance including review of SLA, performance and reporting Provides support to projects in ensuring project vendors deliver and transition sustainable solutions as SME Ensures security and licensing requirements are met Provides input to the Asset specialist to ensure an accurate Software asset inventory and procurement on licensing numbers Drives consolidation and simplification of the Orica Application landscape What you will bring
BAND F PEOPLE LEADER

• Minimum 7 years experience post qualification.
• Experience leading a team, including building a collaborative approach.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement.
• Ability to plan, influence & execute.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.

BAND F TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

• Minimum 3 to 6 years experience post qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement.
• Ability to plan, influence & execute.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.

Your qualifications

Insert tertiary qualification required for role (e.g. Accountant must have a tertiary degree in an Accounting discipline, an Engineer must have a tertiary degree in an Engineering discipline)

Technical qualification / legistlative / SHES certification
