Role and Responsibilities:

They usually undertake administrative tasks and advisory assignments on a daily basis. However, they can also attend open days as a part of the introductions and meet with students and their parents. The primary duties of a School Counsellor includes:
Helping students develop academic plans that match their skills and strengths
Collaborating with other staff members
Facilitating crisis intervention and prevention programmes
Communicating with Teachers, parents and administrators about a students progress regularly
Building non-judgemental relationships based on trust and respect
Analysing student performance in the classroom
Helping School Administrators plan and carry out school-related programmes and events
Helping students talk about their feelings and think about their choices
