Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Identification :
• Conduct assessments to identify students with special educational needs (SEN), including learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), dyslexia, and other developmental or behavioral concerns.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to assess students' individual needs and determine appropriate interventions.
• Monitor students' progress and adjust educational strategies and interventions as necessary.
• Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) :
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs, outlining specific goals, accommodations, and modifications based on each student's unique requirements.
• Regularly review and update IEPs in collaboration with other stakeholders (e.g., teachers, counselors, parents) to track progress and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensure that IEP goals are aligned with the CBSE curriculum, helping students achieve academic, social, and emotional milestones.
• Classroom Support and Modifications :
• Adapt lessons, teaching methods, and materials to accommodate students with special needs in both general and special education settings.
• Work one-on-one with students or in small groups to provide additional support in areas such as reading, math, language development, and behavioral skills.
• Implement strategies to enhance students' attention, focus, and engagement during classroom activities, providing them with the tools needed to succeed.
• Assist teachers in modifying classroom activities, assignments, and assessments to ensure that all students can participate meaningfully.
• Behavior Management :
• Develop and implement behavior management strategies that address specific behavioral concerns, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor students' behavior and implement strategies such as positive reinforcement, structured routines, and clear expectations.
• Work closely with teachers and staff to address behavioral challenges in a supportive and constructive manner.
• Collaboration and Teamwork :
• Collaborate with subject teachers to ensure that students with special needs are supported across all areas of the curriculum.
• Work with other school staff, including counselors, psychologists, and administrators, to create an integrated support system for students with special needs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, strategies for improvement, and future goals.
• Parental Involvement and Communication :
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress, challenges, and any additional support or resources required.
• Provide parents with practical strategies and suggestions to support their child's learning and development at home.
• Conduct parent meetings to discuss IEPs, student progress, and ways to enhance the educational experience for students with special needs.
• Teacher Support and Professional Development :
• Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers in understanding and implementing accommodations for students with special needs.
• Conduct training sessions or workshops on strategies for supporting students with special needs, promoting an inclusive school culture.
• Stay updated on current best practices in special education and participate in professional development activities to continuously improve teaching strategies.
• Documentation and Reporting :
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student assessments, progress, and the implementation of IEPs.
• Prepare reports for parents, teachers, and school administration on the progress and achievements of students with special needs.
• Ensure that all documentation complies with school policies, legal requirements, and educational standards.
• Inclusive Learning Environment :
• Promote an inclusive educational environment where students of all abilities feel valued and supported.
• Help create a school culture that embraces diversity and fosters empathy, respect, and understanding among students.
• Lead or participate in school-wide initiatives that promote inclusion, such as awareness campaigns, workshops, or events.
• Resource Management :
• Identify and recommend resources, tools, and technologies that can support the learning of students with special needs (e.g., assistive technologies, visual aids, alternative learning materials).
• Ensure that the learning environment is adapted to meet the diverse needs of students, including the provision of specialized equipment or accommodations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
