The role requires someone who can collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, parents, and other staff members to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and identify the learning needs of students with disabilities or special educational requirements.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs and goals.
Provide direct instruction and support to students, both in small group and one-on-one settings.
Collaborate with general education teachers to modify lesson plans and classroom materials to accommodate students with special needs.
Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary to ensure academic growth.
Support students in developing social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to keep them informed about student progress and involve them in the educational process.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of strategies to support students' academic and personal growth.
Maintain accurate records of student assessments, progress, and IEP documentation.
Stay informed on best practices, current research, and new tools in special education.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Valid Special Education teaching certification, if applicable.
Experience working with students with special educational needs (preferably in a school setting).
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Patience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping students succeed.
Working Hours:
This is a part-time position, with working hours to be determined based on school needs and the candidate's availability.
