Position Title: South Indian Cook
Reports to: -ad Chef/ Sous Chef
Job Summary: The South Indian Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of traditional South Indian dishes and ensuring that all food served meets high standards of taste, quality, and presentation. This role requires a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine, cooking techniques, and ingredients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide range of South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, sambar, rasam, and various curries.
• Recipe Development: Create and refine recipes to maintain authenticity and enhance flavours.
• Kitchen Management: Manage kitchen operations, including ordering and inventory of ingredients, ensuring freshness and availability.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentation.
• Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food service.
• Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to take feedback and make adjustments to dishes as needed.
• Menu Planning: Assist in planning and updating the menu to include a variety of South Indian dishes.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Proven experience as a cook specializing in South Indian cuisine.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, and dishes.
• Skills: Strong culinary skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Communication: Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
• Education: Culinary training or relevant certifications are a plus.
