Roles and Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation:
• Prepare and cook authentic South Indian dishes, including a variety of dosas, idlis, vadas, pongal, upma, and various chutneys and sambars.
• Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
• Develop new recipes and improve existing ones to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Kitchen Management:
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and storage areas.
• Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
• Quality Control:
• Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the company's quality standards.
• Conduct regular checks on food quality, taste, and presentation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices.
• Team Coordination:
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, including assistants and helpers.
• Assign tasks to kitchen staff and ensure efficient workflow.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Customer Interaction:
• Take feedback from customers to improve the quality of food and service.
• Coordinate with the service staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders.
• Menu Planning:
• Assist in planning and updating the menu to include seasonal and popular dishes.
• Suggest special menus for festivals, events, and promotions.
• Cost Control:
• Manage food costs by minimizing waste and utilizing ingredients efficiently.
• Assist in budgeting and cost management to maximize profitability.
Skills Required:
• Expertise in South Indian cuisine, including breakfast and tiffin items.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Good communication skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
• Creativity in developing new recipes and improving existing dishes.
