We are looking for a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As the right-hand to the Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality, efficiency, and creativity of our culinary offerings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various cooking techniques, team management, and a passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Head Chef : Assist in managing the kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and team coordination.
• Lead the Team : Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring all team members are performing at their best.
• Food Preparation : Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring consistency and high standards in every plate.
• Inventory Management : Assist in ordering and managing kitchen inventory, maintaining optimal stock levels, and minimizing waste.
• Quality Control : Ensure that all food leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant's standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
• Health & Safety : Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Collaboration : Work closely with the Head Chef and front-of-house team to coordinate food service, ensuring timely and efficient operations.
• Menu Development : Contribute ideas for seasonal menu updates and daily specials, offering creative input that aligns with the restaurant's vision.
• Stand-in for Head Chef : Step into the Head Chef's role when they are unavailable, managing kitchen operations and ensuring continued excellence.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Expertise in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of food cost control, inventory management, and kitchen safety regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive, productive kitchen environment.
• Culinary degree or relevant professional experience is preferred.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
