Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen, maintaining high-quality food standards, and ensuring seamless food service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Executive Chef in planning, organizing, and supervising kitchen operations.
2. Oversee food preparation, presentation, and plating, ensuring high-quality standards.
3. Manage kitchen staff, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
4. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
5. Control food costs, manage inventory, and optimize menu engineering.
6. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menus, recipes, and specials.
7. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards.
8. Perform other duties as required, such as assisting with events or functions.
Requirements:
1. Diploma or degree in culinary arts or a related field.
2. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or fine dining establishment.
3. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety regulations.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
6. Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 25 kg).
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Certification in culinary arts or a related field (e.g., CMC, CEC).
2. Experience with menu planning, food costing, and inventory management.
3. Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and quality control procedures.
