Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to lead our salad kitchen team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen, uphold high standards of quality and consistency, and inspire creativity within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation and Production:
• Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and execution.
• Oversee the daily preparation of salads, dressings, and other cold dishes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain strict inventory control, monitor ingredient quality, and minimize waste.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Team Management:
• Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
• Operations and Administration:
• Assist with ordering and receiving supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels.
• Maintain accurate records of food costs, labor costs, and other kitchen expenses.
• Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Assist with other kitchen operations as assigned by the Head Chef.

Qualifications:

• Culinary Expertise:
• Proven experience as a Commis/Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, especially those related to salad preparation and cold dishes.
• Creative flair and a passion for developing innovative salad combinations.
• Leadership and Management Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and train a team of kitchen staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Other:
• Formal culinary training or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Saturday: 3:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?16,591.80 - ?25,000.00 per month
