Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, \xe2\x80\x98anchor\xe2\x80\x99, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:
Solution Architect will be accountable for the accuracy and ultimate suitability of the end to end technology solution required to fulfill the goals of the various programmes/projects. He/she will provide domain knowledge and architectural direction across the landscape of the Payment and will ensure that the end to end technology design fully supports agreed scope, is fit for purpose, is fully scalable and is aligned to the 9 PCB stack. Solution Architect will need to keep them upto date with Industry asks, Technology domains and Fintech Offerings.

What will you be doing?

Architectures

Proficient in architecting solutions across disparate technologies to achieve the complex business objectives of multiple business areas:
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 The successful candidate will be a Senior Architect who is recognised and respected as subject-matter experts in the Payments domain.
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Breadth and depth of financial services business and applications knowledge;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Able to thrive in an unstructured, ambiguous environment; adept at varying own styles to influence the optimum outcome and execute on multiple demands simultaneously;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Ability to think abstractly when required, but also to drill into detail, drawing on significant delivery experience

Anticipates client needs; responds to and follows through on client enquiries, requests and issues:
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Acts as a trusted advisor to the customer on both technical and business issues;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Provide long term v/s short term solution which gives business customer proposition in terms of MVP and abides by delivery factory.
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Fully understands the customer\xe2\x80\x99s products and priorities and maintains a strong cross-functional network;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Elicits regular feedback from customers and acts on the results.

Has working knowledge of governance & control techniques:
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Experienced in working with the design authority for a project and acting as architecture sign-off for project level component deliverables;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Can identify high-impact, sensitive situations or issues and escalate appropriately;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Ensures governance, risk and control procedures are followed.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Expertise in technology domains within payments: DevOps, API, Analytics, Cloud adoption and Process Automation;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Experience in developing Target Operating Models, capability models and transition architectures that resonate with Board-level executives.
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Proven experience in designing and/or building highly scalable and resilient core payment systems for global financial organisations;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Extensive experience in systems integration projects that involve open source technologies and implementation utilising cloud based computing and APIs;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Proficient in architecting solutions across disparate technologies to achieve the complex business objectives of multiple business areas;

Skills that will help you in the role:
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Architect training and certification, e.g. TOGAF, Zachman accreditation;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Exposure to Service Orientated Architecture design principles and/or Cloud based solutions;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Knowledge and experience of Cyber threats, Information Security or Fraud;
\xc3\xaf\xe2\x80\x9a\xc2\xa7 Knowledge and experience in working with UK and International Payment processing.
