Job Summary: We are looking for a self-motivated and results-oriented Solar Project Handling Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the full life cycle of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, ensuring their successful completion on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. You will act as a central point of contact, collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to deliver exceptional solar energy solutions. Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Pre-Construction:
  • Participate in the development of project proposals, defining technical specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess solar resource potential, environmental factors, and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals from local authorities.
  • Develop detailed project schedules and work plans, identifying resource requirements (personnel, materials, equipment).
  • Manage project procurement, ensuring timely acquisition of solar panels, inverters, mounting systems, and other necessary equipment.
  • Project Execution and Construction:
  • Oversee and manage construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, electrical contractors, and civil engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the construction process to guarantee proper installation and functionality of the solar PV system.
  • Manage project budget and track expenditures, identifying and addressing cost variances.
  • Monitor project progress against the plan, proactively resolving any delays or challenges that may arise.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and construction teams.
  • Project Completion and Handover:
  • Oversee system testing and commissioning, ensuring the solar PV system meets performance and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Prepare project handover documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Provide initial training to the client on system operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct project closure activities, documenting lessons learned for future projects and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field (e.g., Renewable Energy).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in solar PV project management or a relevant field (e.g., construction project engineering).
  • Strong understanding of solar PV technology, system design principles, and balance-of-system (BOS) components.
  • Working knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and power systems analysis.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in technical software relevant to solar design and engineering (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with solar project financing and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and permitting processes for solar installations.
  • Experience with quality control procedures for solar PV systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
