Job Description

Job Overview: The Solar Installer Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, physical fitness, and the ability to work safely in varying conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair solar PV systems, ensuring systems meet local, state, and federal codes and standards.
• Assemble solar modules, panels, and support structures according to building codes and standards.
• Perform site assessments and determine optimal placement for solar panels to maximize energy production.
• Identify, address, and resolve issues related to system performance, including troubleshooting electrical components.
• Connect wiring to the electrical system, inverters, and other components, ensuring proper and safe electrical installations.
• Perform routine maintenance, monitoring, and inspections of solar installations to ensure system efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members, engineers, and project managers to achieve project goals and deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, including materials used, work performed, and system performance data.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe work environment.
• Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in solar energy, electrical, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a solar installer or in a similar role within the renewable energy sector.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, solar PV technology, and installation best practices.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to solar energy systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and in confined spaces.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working on rooftops.
• Use of hand and power tools.
• Travel to various job sites as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship, Freelance

Pay: ?8,000.00 - ?12,000.00 per month

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Shift allowance
• Yearly bonus
