- Software Engineering Manager (Full-time, Hybrid/Remote, Hyderabad Location) Mordor Intelligence is a fully revenue-funded market intelligence & advisory company. We are looking for an Engineering Manager who is eager to leverage technology and help transform the market research industry. In this role, you will have complete ownership of our technology vision, product (from architecture to execution) and our software development & QA teams. Team Leadership
- Grow and manage a team of high performing Engineers.
- Empower your team members to succeed in their various roles through coaching and mentorship
- Assess performance, provide feedback, recognise achievement and guide the career development of your team
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding new engineering talent
- Lead by example - Be hands on and follow the processes & practices you develop.
- Own the technical roadmap for a product
- Perform all phases of software engineering including design, development, testing, and deployment in an Agile software development environment
- Help hone our overall Agile practices to reduce the time it takes to deliver increments of software, including improving continuous integration and delivery
- Promote software development quality and best practices by encouraging unit and automated integration testing, pair programming and participation in code reviews
- Provide timely advice, solutions and estimations while also communicating tradeoffs and potential hidden problems
Partner Closely with Stakeholders
- Build a strong, collaborative partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver software that achieves business objectives
- Work with shifting requirements and adapt to change by leading your team and the department in maintaining an Agile mindset
- Recognise technology opportunities to support business growth while balancing risks and priorities
- Encourage transparency with each team's release plans, progress and impediments
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant hands-on technical management experience of software developers and systems administrators/architects.
- 4+ years of experience in leading teams to develop complex, technically challenging, cross-functional software-oriented projects from inception to delivery.
- Knowledge of security best practices as it relates to web application development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate information technology concepts in non-technology terms.
- Technologies - JavaScript, NodeJS, ReactJS, ExpressJS, NextJS
- Databases- Relational(MySQL), Non-Relational(MongoDB, Redis)
- Cloud Services-AWS, Mongo Atlas, Cloudflare, Netlify, Bitbucket, Jenkins(CICD)
