Employees will help drive innovation for Best Buy.Key Responsibilities

• Lead one team responsible for a product capability
• Lead the delivery of complex solutions, and participate in the creation and presentation of technical designs
• Participate in production support along with their team
• Actively participate in planning, and performing code and architecture reviews of their teams product
• Ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.
• Manage individual performance through regular 1:1s, coaching, mentoring, and encouragement of development plans
• Partner with product owner to ensure requirements are clearly defined
• Lead effort to turn requirements into technical specifications
• Set project schedule along with product owner
• Provide technical leadership on the product and determines technical approach
• Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager
• Set the teams objectives and key results in collaboration with Product and Experience Design (XD) partners
• Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues
• Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buys continued success
• Set tactical team goals in service of larger organizational strategic goals

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant technical professional experience with a bachelors degree OR equivalent professional experience. Including:

• 1+ years of experience managing and leading engineering teams
• 2+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering and architecture, with a focus on AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, etc.(aws / azure)
• 2+ years of experience in micro-services architectureusing Java, Kafka, No SQL databases
• 2+ years of proven development skills in Java and Spring Boot, with a strong background understanding of software engineering principles.(Java / spring boot / python)
• Experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
• Ability to understand business problems and apply engineering design principles tocreate innovative solutions to scale, performance and security.
• Demonstrated background working directly with Engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
• Ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and automated testing
• Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
• Proactive in learning new skills and sharing knowledge with the team
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or AWS CloudWatch
• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
