We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Next Generation Services Edge team. This role requires a deep understanding of networking systems and expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing highly available networking software for routers and switches. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building innovative solutions for our networking products, focusing on cutting-edge technologies that drive high-performance, reliable network services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and optimize software for highly available networking systems, including routers and switches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement next-generation services for edge networking.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code in C/C++ within a Linux/Unix environment.
• Utilize your expertise in data structures and algorithms to create efficient, robust, and performant software.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software issues to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
• Work closely with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and performance optimization of Broadcom J2C and other networking hardware components.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on best practices in networking software development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience: 10+ years in networking product companies with hands-on experience in developing software for networking systems (routers, switches).
• Programming: Strong proficiency in C and C++ in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Data Structures & Algorithms: Deep knowledge and practical experience with data structures and algorithms to optimize performance and reliability.
• Networking Systems: Experience in developing and supporting highly available networking systems.
• Broadcom J2C (Preferred): Experience with Broadcom J2C networking hardware is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven track record of delivering high-performance networking solutions in production environments.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.
