A major part of this is writing and owning the design/implementation of the code that drives our products. However, the role of a Software Engineer is much bigger than \'simply\' writing code. Software engineers work on the whole development process, including:
\xc2\xb7 Suggesting and deciding what features to build
\xc2\xb7 Design, architect and develop network applications and microservices for Data Center
Networking on SONiC
\xc2\xb7 Pushing, testing, documenting the feature
\xc2\xb7 Working alongside customers in the field if neededQualificationsAre you right for this role?

\xc2\xb7 Strong engineering and Computer Science fundamentals
\xc2\xb7 Extensive background in algorithms and strong software architecture skills
\xc2\xb7 Fluency in one of C/C++/Python programming
\xc2\xb7 Hands-on experience with designs and implementations in a strong product-engineering
environmentPreferred qualifications
\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
\xc2\xb7 A minimum of one year of hands-on SONiC experience is a must
o Understanding of SONiC architecture
o Knowledge of the FRR open routing stack (formerly Quagga, Zebra), Redis-DB, and
Docker
o Experience using SONiC SAI for new feature development and integration
\xc2\xb7 Experience in Network Systems Software development
\xc2\xb7 Strong software debugging skills especially in embedded systems
\xc2\xb7 Experience with software development for the forwarding ASICs, FPGAs, Network Processors
etc
\xc2\xb7 Datapath forwarding for ACLs, QoS, Unicast, Multicast, etc is a plus
\xc2\xb7 Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
