This position plays a pivotal role in strategy, design, delivery, and optimization of the CD platform, in close partnership with business and global teams. This is the best role at the intersection of business and technology and to understand product management.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ruby Lead with a minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of developers, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions, and contributing to the technical architecture and design of our Ruby-based applications.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

Provide technical leadership to the development team, guiding and mentoring junior developers.

Drive best practices in coding, testing, and maintainability within the Ruby on Rails ecosystem.

Being comfortable with microservices architectures, API-based

Project Management:

Lead and manage the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance.

Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Work closely with project managers to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Code Review and Quality Assurance:

Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, adherence to coding standards, and performance optimization.

Implement and enforce best practices for code quality and conduct regular code reviews with the development team.

Technical Architecture:

Contribute to the architectural design and decision-making process for Ruby-based applications.

Identify and address technical debt, scalability, and performance issues.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails development.

Proven experience leading and managing development teams.

Experience working with DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).

Experience with AWS or GCP (RDS, DDB, Lambda, CW, EC2, SQS, SNS, Cognito, Kinesis or similar).

Experience with performance improvements (Caching Techniques, SQL Query Optimization, Performance monitoring and profiling.

Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, with a deep understanding of the Ruby language.

Excellent working knowledge of Rest APIs, Cloud system architecture.

Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and data modelling.

Deep understanding of service-oriented and microservices architectural patterns, troubleshooting methods and best practices.

Leadership Skills:

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to make decisions and provide direction in a fast-paced development environment.

Technology Ownership:

Manage delivery IT projects for all channels of sales through improvement programs

Support design of architecture in partnership with internal & external architects.

Ensure Agile & Devops practices are leveraged and adopted across programs

Manage support operations and improvements journey for HUL customers

Governance & People:

Manage a very large team of internal and external team members; ensure well-being, development & motivation, while ensuring delivery of CRs and BAU operations of the assigned areas

Manage the IT budget including adherence to forecast, optimization & compliance

Ensure proper governance structure is followed across all stakeholders
