As part of this team, you will contribute to a suite of tools designed for CCB data analysts and publishing teams, offering seamless migration assistance, cross-platform reconciliation, and clear information on the data they need to make an impact. Although part of a larger organization, this scrum team operates in startup mode and has a reputation of quickly delivering business value. Successful candidates should be able to work in a fast paced, inclusive, supportive and creative team. This Software Engineer III position is to add a full-stack developer who will be collaborating with other engineers to design and develop capabilities using leading-edge AWS platforms and services.Job responsibilitiesExecutes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal degree or certification on software engineering concepts and 8+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityStrong expertise in UI development: React, JavaScript, CSSSolid experience with back-end development: Python, Java, JavaScript, ScalaHands on experience building and deploying solutions with UI, BFF, and Data componentsApplied database experience with data models, SQL, DDL, DML on Postgres and SnowflakeExperience developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining code following best practices with stories, code repositories, and CI/CD pipelinesOverall knowledge of the Software Development Life CyclePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsKnowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and associated componentsExperience having been a technical lead/mentor for a teamBanking domain experience and prior work with data engineers and analysts is desiredDemonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline e.g. cloud servicesMust have experience working in a team, and ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightStrong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions
