If you're passionate about engineering and innovation, Synchrony's Engineering Team is the place to be.Role Summary/Purpose:The Software Engineer II - Servicing Apps QA is a technical specialist who creates automation code for repeated tests on several of Synchronyxe2x80x99s client-facing platforms, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions on those platforms. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in implementing our software quality assurance lifecycle, collaborating with development teams to develop automated tests to ensure our releases meet the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware Engineer II - Servicing Apps QA will have complete ownership for preparing test automation solution, designing automation frameworks and lead the implementation of test strategy, test plans & test execution of the product..Help teams in building/enhancing test automation solutions working closely with product roadmap and stories, developers, and the customer in an agile development practiceParticipate in full testing life cycle, including agile ceremonies, test case identification/development, development of test automation framework, functional testing, and user acceptance testing.Help create test estimates and plans. Represent testing team in project meetings and solution discussionsEnsure high standards of availability, scalability, and extensibility of internally developed test automation assets and frameworksWork closely with an experienced staff comprising both Synchrony resources and/or 3rd party contractorsCommunicate the status of testing status and initiatives to stakeholders and leadershipKeep abreast of emerging testing technologies and techniques while maintaining proficiency in existing technologiesRequired Skills/Knowledge:Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in computer science with 2+ years of professional web application development experience or in lieu of degree 4+ years of professional web application development experience.Understanding of Java and Web applicationsKnowledge in GUI, API/Webservices/Database automated testingKnowledge in preparing automation framework with parallel execution (either on-prem or cloud) with various test types, integrated with CI/CD pipelines.Desired Characteristics:Experience in testing applications using microservices architecture and cloud-based technologies.Experience in Agile application development methodology; BDD experience would be a plus.Experience preparing POCs for latest testing tools and trends and getting that implemented.Experience in Service Virtualization, TDM, Containerization and cloud technologies.Ability to achieve results in a cross-functional matrix organization involving multiple technologies, personnel, and processesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsKnowledge on Java and OOPS concepts.Eligibility Criteria:Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in computer science with 2+ years of professional web application development experience or in lieu of degree 4+ years of professional web application development experience.Work Timings: 12 PM - 11 PM ISTThis role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time xe2x80x93 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
