This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our Linux-based systems running in a cloud environment.In this role, as a Linux Quality and Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for measuring and ensuring the quality of our Linux systems. You will design and implement approaches to gather telemetry data on Linux performance and conduct in-depth analysis from our live production environments on the cloud. Your insights will help optimize our systems, enhance user experience, and drive continuous improvement. you will work closely with customers to fix problems encountered in using Linux in the Azure cloud and edge platforms.Microsoft loves Linux and Open Source, come join us if you do too.Responsibilities:Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement methodologies for measuring the quality and performance of Linux systems in a cloud environment.

• Design and deploy telemetry systems to collect data on system performance, resource utilization, and application behavior.

• Analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks, trends, and anomalies.

• Work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to optimize system performance and reliability.

• Create detailed reports and dashboards to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and work on resolutions.

• Implement automated monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure early detection and resolution of performance issues.

• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in Linux performance tuning and cloud infrastructure management.

• Participate in capacity planning and scalability testing to ensure systems can handle future growth.

Qualifications:Required Qualifications :

• B.S or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience on Linux with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, Python, Rust, or Golang with deep technical expertise in these areas:

• Proven experience in Linux system administration and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and their services.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Experience with telemetry and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, PowerBI, Nagios, or similar.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitLab CI, or CircleCI.

• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
