A software engineer is typically involved in all phases of development \xe2\x80\x93 from design through implementation. Software engineers work with various other departments to ensure that FactSet\xe2\x80\x99s products and technologies are responsive to the changing needs of the investment community. Ideal candidates must have a thorough knowledge of Software Engineering principles and best practices. Individuals must possess a high degree of creativity, and a strong talent for problem-solving to conquer complex technical obstacles and work independently. While working on different projects, Software Engineers at FactSet use a combination of the following:Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable codeProactively suggest improvements to applications and processes that enhance the client experience or improve performanceParticipate in the maintenance and support of the solutionParticipate in agile development process and ceremoniesWork with the Product Development team to understand project requirements and work with otherEngineers on the technical design of those solutionsKeep up to date and act as a leader on Typescript, Vue.js, Angular.js, and their related ecosystemsJOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor\'s or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Computer Science or equivalent1 - 2 years of experience building web applicationsExperience using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, TypeScript and VueWillingness to work as a member of a team, participating in peer code reviews and maintaining project and operational documentationAbility to work as part of a geographically diverse teamExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsOrganized, self-directed, and resourceful with the ability to appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environmentGOOD TO HAVE SKILLS:Experience working with RESTful services and APIsExperience working with remote teamsProficiency with Object-Oriented design principles and working knowledge of Linux OSExperience in unit testing and automating websitesDIVERSITYAt FactSet, we celebrate diversity of thought, experience, and perspective.
