Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Cloudant is a scalable, distributed cloud database offering based on Apache CouchDB and used for web, mobile, IoT and serverless applications. It is a fully managed service, customers do not have the hassle and complexity of managing database operations. Cloudant customers get peace of mind with standard, production-grade high availability, auto-failover, scaling, encryption, and more.

We are distributed globally and dedicated to providing exceptional development, operations and support for the live service. A successful applicant will quickly assume a technical leadership role within the Cloudant team and will have longer-term growth opportunities within IBM Cloud.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop software and associated processes to test, deploy, maintain and enhance cloud-based data services provided by IBM.
• Design, plan, and implement test cases, test harnesses, and test automation as required by IBM engineering standards
• Design, plan, and implement auxillary code to configure, deploy, and monitor IBM service offerings
• Design, plan, and implement functional code
• Analyze problem reports and defects, identify solutions and implement in compliance with IBM engineering standards
• Investigate new algorithms and methods to implement and enhance IBM offerings.
• Collaborate with other IBM employees, contractors, and third parties as directed by management to maintain and enhance IBM offerings.
• Work with the team to build reliable and secure Cloud based Infrastructure

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 3 to 8 years of experience is required
• Knowledge of current software development languages and tools used for development of web-based database applications e.g., Python, Jenkins, Docker, Git, Erlang, Java, C++, debugging and performance analysis tools, UNIX-based operating systems, cloud storage environments and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline, test automation
• Knowledge of Linux systems
• Kubernetes and containerization technology
• Experience in any of: Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript, Git, Jenkins, Travis

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery services such as Jenkins, Travis
• Test automation
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• English: Fluent
