How You Will Contribute:

Ciena\xe2\x80\x99s Routing & Switching software team is looking an entry-level software engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development principles, an interest in networking and telecommunications, and a desire to learn new technologies. In this role, you will be working on cutting-edge networking and telecommunication projects and will have the opportunity to learn and grow quickly.

• Work with a team of experienced software engineers to design, develop, and maintain software for networking and telecommunication products
• Learn and understand the latest technologies and protocols in the field
• Write high-quality and maintainable code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development process
• Help troubleshoot and debug software issues

What Does Ciena Expect of You?

• Strong understanding of software development principles
• Interest in networking and telecommunications
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong programming skills in at least one language (e.g. C, C++, Python)
• Experience with Linux shell scripting and automation
• Understanding of containers, VNF/CNF and other virtualization technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong desire to learn and grow in the field
